Our Story
MITTN was started by two best friends from Grand Rapids, Michigan who always wanted to build something of their own. We realized early on that a lot of clothing brands charge premium prices for pieces that cost very little to make, relying on heavy markups instead of real quality.
That gap is where MITTN was born. We make college-budget clothing with the same look, feel, and quality as luxury and lifestyle brands, but for more than half the price. On top of that, every piece is fully customizable, so you can create something that actually reflects your style.
And bigger than the clothes, MITTN is proof. We want to show that full-time college students can run an entire business themselves ... design, production, content, and sales, while still being full-time students.
Our Mission
The fashion industry is built around excess. Brands routinely produce far more than they sell, waste raw materials, and rely on large-scale manufacturing systems that consume enormous amounts of energy. That model creates unnecessary waste and pollution at every step of the process.
MITTN was created to challenge that approach. Instead of producing inventory in bulk, we make each piece only when it’s ordered, eliminating overproduction entirely. By keeping production in-house rather than outsourcing to mass factories, we maintain tighter control over quality while reducing energy use and waste. The result is thoughtfully made apparel that matches the quality of leading lifestyle brands without contributing to the cycle of excess that defines much of the industry.
